Did you know that Kingston, Jamaica has beautiful hotels that can give you similar vacation experience, just like on the North Coast? When we hear “Kingston”, we might think ‘bustling city’, Jamaica’s raw culture, business…etc., but what if we told you that there are intimate spaces that you can relax and unwind?

Boutique hotels/resorts are renowned for their size, individuality, and intimacy. Some are sometimes not as heavily marketed, or they may not have excessive attractions and features, as that might defeat the purpose of them being considered intimate and personalized. Kingston is probably the most known area in Jamaica, however, it isn’t widely known internationally as a resort area. Due to this, it wouldn’t be a surprise if it is found that many don’t know that there are luxurious places that one can stay here.

Therefore, we’ve made you a list of a few boutique hotels in Kingston, Jamaica, that you should visit at least once:

1. Spanish Court

Spanish Court Hotel

We’ve visited Spanish Court Hotel before on a New Years Eve, and it was indeed a memorable way to begin the year. Spanish Court Hotel, located in New Kingston is classy, with a touch of modern Iberian-style atmosphere. It is popularly ranked as the best boutique hotel in Kingston. The cuisine is orgasmic – actually the best tasting we’ve had at any hotel in Kingston, and one of the best overall! In addition, the rooms are spacious and luxurious. For a moment, you might even forget that you’re in the city.

2. Terra Nova All Suite Hotel

What to Know before Visiting Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel

Terra Nova All Suite Hotel is another Kingston boutique hotel that we’ve visited before. If you’re into English-styled architecture, and like the idea of a little British history, then you’d want to explore the history of Terra Nova during your visit. The architecture is regal with a bit of Victorian touch, and includes spacious rooms with elegant furniture. You also have the option of staying in one of the renovated master suites that once belonged to the first owners of the property.

3. Eden Gardens Wellness Resort & Spa

Eden Gardens

Eden Gardens Wellness Resort & Spa is one of the hidden gems in Kingston. It is popular for the staging of small-scale prestigious events, but not commonly talked about pertaining to accommodations. Rooms are limited, but it should be just enough for small groups or couples. There is a pool, full-service spa and massage rooms, gym and two restaurants and bars. There are also special features such as in-room childcare, and access to extra beds and adjoining rooms, so that you can feel at home with your family. In addition, there is also a business center and ballrooms that host intimate-sized events. The outside on the grounds is picturesque, brandishing it’s infamous mermaid sculpture fountain.

We’ve visited this one before, but for events on different occasions, and not to stay. If we do stay, you know we won’t hesitate to tell you about our experience

4. Jamaica Pegasus

Best Boutique Hotels in Kingston Jamaica

We’ve spent another New Years Eve at The Jamaica Pegasus. Resort Caribbean knows how to celebrate in fine style, and you should too. At this boutique hotel, you can host a small-scale celebration, or you can just stay here to enjoy the city life, and to eat some good food at one of the restaurants or café. Pegasus is very common to locals and has been widely used in the past, but it’s still a great place to stay with good offers.  It also has amenities such as a large swimming pool – lap size, tennis court and running track. Other boutique hotels in Kingston don’t offer these.

5. Courtleigh Hotel & Suites

Best Boutique Hotels in Kingston Jamaica

Courtleigh Hotel & Suites is the only one I’ve never been to, but like many Jamaicans, I’ve attended events at their auditorium. It’s one of those hotels that will accommodate you for a night, or a couple nights if you’re attending an event in the city, but that’s not the only purpose. Courtleigh Hotel and Suites offer wedding services, and ballrooms for the staging of exquisite events, such as banquets and dinners. The rooms are spacious with beautiful views of the city. There is gym access, a pool, spacious rooms, a restaurant, and a bar and lounge. There are even deals that give you discount if you book a stay for five nights or more. Be sure to check it out.

6. ROK Hotel Kingston TAPESTRY Collection by Hilton

What you should know before visiting ROK Hotel Kingston, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

By now you must be saying that we’ve visited all the best boutique hotels in Kingston. Well, you’re absolutely right! Even if it was only for a day, it still counts. The last one on our list is ROK Hotel Kingston Tapestry Collection by Hilton, located in Downtown Kingston. This is both the newest hotel in Kingston, and newest boutique hotel. The hotel being new comes with a lot of advantages, so we highly recommend that you visit sometime soon, while it’s still in it’s early stages of development. Rooms might be cheaper than other boutique hotels, and there might be numerous offers that you can get. The furniture and appliances will also be new, which means that you might be one of the first persons to ever sleep on the bed.

One of the downsides of staying here is that the food isn’t so great, however the location is advantageous, as you will be in the heart of Kingston. If you walk for two minutes, you will find signature meals that come with some entertainment, right across the road at the Waterfront. Finally, you will enjoy the view of the harbor from both the hotel and anywhere in the vicinity.
